Updating Bury CV-9040 (CV9040) Software

If your Bury CV-9040 is behaving strangely or you have purchased a new phone and now certain features do not work you may need to update the software of the kit. This has to be done via a bluetooth enabled PC, the first step is to download and install the ‘Bury Update Manager‘. Once installed you will see a ‘Download’ button, select this and then the model of kit and the program will download the latest available version of software for you.

Please note if you wish to store the software for future ‘off line’ use you will need to manually download the file from Bury.com)

Then put the car kit into Update Mode (Settings – Device – System – Software Update – Yes) The kit will only stay in update mode for around 5 minutes if no bluetooth connection is made.

Then you will need to do a bluetooth search with your laptop and you should find the CV-9040 either as a ‘Modem’ or as a ‘Serial Port’ service running. Once found connect up and enter 1234 as the passcode at this point you need to find out what ‘Outgoing Com Port’ the bluetooth software has connected to the car kit on, this varies depending on the software some makes it easy others like keeping it a secret but youNEED to know!

Once you know the com port, go to the Bury Update Manager and choose the correct com port and press Next (the program is now unzipping the repository) the Next button will need pressing again in a few seconds. The software will then send across and once completed the unit will reboot and away you go.

Every call i get with problems is either the kit is not in update mode before the search is done or the incorrect com port has been selected!!

If you do not have access to a bluetooth enabled PC then we can carry out this update for you at the cost of £20 inc vat (Including return Courier). If you wish to do this please fill out this form and send it in! http://62.254.221.181/tracker/downloads/Update%20Service/Chameleon%20Update%20Service%20Form.doc

If your Bury CC-9060 / CC-9068 is behaving strangely or you have purchased a new phone and now certain features do not work you may need to update the software of the kit. Once you know the com port, go to the Bury Update Manager and choose the correct com port and press Next (the program is now unzipping the repository) the Next button will need pressing again in a few seconds. The software will then send across and once completed you will get a Green Bar that will go from the left to right of the screen this does take around 8 minutes the kit will reboot when finished and you are ready to go.

Every call i get with problems is either the kit is not in update mode before the search is done or the incorrect com port has been selected!!

Please note that for CC-9060 Units do not update current units that have lower than V174 software straight to the latest version as this may cause problems. Please update them to V174 first and then to the latest version.(This note is not relevant to the CC-9068).

Parrot CK3100 Memory Full Problem

If you have a CK3100 and when you pair up a new phone it states ‘Memory Full’ even after deleting the ‘Paired Devices’ this is usually caused by the Ignition 12v & Permanent 12v supplies being the incorrect way around. An easy test for this is to turn off the ignition on the car and the kit should flash up ‘Goodbye’ on the screen if it doesn’t they are wrong.

Usually you can disconnect the power plug to the junction box of the kit for at least 5 minutes, correct the ignition & permanent supplies and power the kit back up and all being well it will be fine. In the unlikely event the problem still remains you will need to software upgrade the kit.

When the supplies are incorrect the kit doesn’t shut down correctly you find a small amount of memory isn’t cleared from the kit (Say 0.13kb etc) after a period of time the kits memory gets full.

Bury CC-9060 with Low Audio Volume

If you have a CC-9060 kit fitted and the audio side in the car is low there is a very good chance that the 3.5mm jack plug on the Bury ISO loom has been plugged into the incorrect socket on the junction box. The plug should be plugged in right next to the microphone connector and NOT next to the 4 pin power plug.
