Updating Bury CC-9060/ CC-9068 (CC9060/CC9068) Software

If your Bury CC-9060 / CC-9068 is behaving strangely or you have purchased a new phone and now certain features do not work you may need to update the software of the kit. This has to be done via a bluetooth enabled laptop, the first step is to download and install the Bury Update Manager. Once installed you will see a ‘Download’ button, select this and then the model of kit and the program will download the latest available version of software for you. (Please note if you wish to store the software for future ‘off line’ use you will need to manually download the file from Bury.com)

Then put the car kit into Update Mode (Settings – Device – System – Software Update – Yes) The kit will only stay in update mode for around 5 minutes if no bluetooth connection is made.

Then you will need to do a bluetooth search with your laptop and you should find the CC-9060 either as a ‘Modem’ or as a ‘Serial Port’ service running. Once found connect up and enter 1234 as the passcode at this point you need to find out what ‘Outgoing Com Port’ the bluetooth software has connected to the car kit on, this varies depending on the software some makes it easy others like keeping it a secret but you NEED to know!

Once you know the com port, go to the Bury Update Manager and choose the correct com port and press Next (the program is now unzipping the repository) the Next button will need pressing again in a few seconds. The software will then send across and once completed you will get a Green Bar that will go from the left to right of the screen this does take around 8 minutes the kit will reboot when finished and you are ready to go.

Every call i get with problems is either the kit is not in update mode before the search is done or the incorrect com port has been selected!!

Please note that for CC-9060 Units do not update current units that have lower than V174 software straight to the latest version as this may cause problems. Please update them to V174 first and then to the latest version.(This note is not relevant to the CC-9068).

I did not get to this E Mail before I started an update. I have downloaded the latest software version in error and now the unit is totally dead, no display at all. Sometimes a voice comes on and say’s “UK English” but nothing on the display.
Does this mean my CC9060 is now dead and never to live again?

    • Hi Karl, i have never come across a Bury kit that has completely died after an update because even if the update fails for some reason (poor BT connection, flat laptop battery etc) it isn’t processed until it’s completely downloaded to the kit via bluetooth. After the update did you get a ‘Green’ bar start creeping from the left of the screen to the right? After an update of the kit it then updates the screen to make the software match but at a glance the screen is 99% blank to start with and it’s quite easy to miss the Green bar thats started. If the screen has started the update and is then removed from it’s cradle it could cause a problem as the screen will be mid update. If you start your vehicle can you still connect your phone to the bluetooth and make a call using the phone? The kit should work even with a screen disconnected. If it does work i strongly suspect you have a faulty screen. If it doesn’t work with your phone it is probably more terminal. If you’re in the UK and need a screen let me know i have a few 2nd hand ones we could probably do a deal on 🙂

  2. Are all the contacts on the phone memory and not the sim card? Also how many contacts do you think you have?

      Hi
My contacts are on my phone. There are about 100 contacts. Since upgrading to iOS11.1 my CC9068 can only see a few of them. I have tried decoupling, disconnecting, forgetting the device and then pairing again several times. Thanks.

      • I’m hearing feedback from customers that if you have an image attached to the contact it no longer send that info to the Bury kit since the iOS updates. You have to delete and contact photos and then they should transfer again. I don’t think Bury can do anything about it as it’s a phone issue and worked fine until the updates!

    Hello. I have a Bury CC-9060 Smart.
The software version 222 was installed on the device. The list of available languages was Dutch, French and one more. There was no English or Russian.
I installed the version 271 software. The list of available languages has not changed.
How do I add English and Russian to the list of available languages?

  4. That’s not good, that’s what happens if the kit isn’t updated to V174 first (if it was under V174 to start with) i’m afraid now that has happened there isn’t anyway to revive the car kit. You will need a new junction box.

  5. A majority of the time that will leave you with a dead screen that can’t be recovered. I have had the odd instance where people have been lucky i think it depends how far through the update it had gone before being disconnected. If you remove the screen and refit it and you don’t get the green bar again then it’s dead im afraid. Just to be certain the rest of the kit is still fine you should still be able to pair your phone to the kit and the kit should work but you have to use your phone to start end calls etc. I have a few 2nd hand screens we might be able to come up with a deal on, email me spaget AT chameleoncodewing.co.uk

  6. The kit should still work to a degree without the screen so does the car kit still connect to your phone and can you still make calls on the kit if you dial on the phone? If the kit is still working it’s 99% certain just a faulty screen. If the kit doesn’t connect to your phone at all i would suspect the main brain has failed.

    Hi
    I have an iphone 7 and a bury 9060.
it was sync’d in perfectly to the phone book on the 9060, however it appears since iphone/apple updated to 11.0.3 the phone book, alot of the entries are missing,
I tried deleting a photo associated with the contact in iphone, wiped the iphone out from the 9060, re associated it with the ihone ,downloaded the contacts but still it will not show the entry.
Does the 9060 get its telephone entries from the iphone or from the SIM card ?
my 9060 has the following after I upgraded it around 6 months ago
    s/w
    Box SW ver :0287
    Box HW vers :0004
    Display SW vers :0227
    Display HW vers :0000

    • You have the latest software for the kit, this is a strange one as others seems to cure it by removing the contact pictures. One thing worth checking is go to the Bluetooth Menu on the phone and find the CC-9060 go in and check the settings for it, towards the bottom of the screen i think you see something about what contacts to sync (All, Groups etc) and make sure this is still on ALL. Other than that i’m out of ideas i’m afraid!

        Thanks Tech guy.
I followed you tips , in the end I did a cold reset on my iphone & resync’d the contacts & now works ( without the photo associated with the entry )
Typically apple have just issued another s/w update !!!!

Can I ask if the bury 9060 will read txt messages on the iphone ?
I had a nokia lumia with windows o/s and Cortana would read them out through the bury 9060 and would also let me reply to them, but I cannot find any settings to let me do it using the iphone7 , is it anything to do with Siri ?
        Any help would be appreciated.

        • You ask a good question about the reading of SMS, personally i’m not an Apple man so i haven’t tried like you say if it’s possible it will be at the phone end somewhere. Sorry i can’t help any more than that!
