Updating Bury CC-9060/ CC-9068 (CC9060/CC9068) Software

If your Bury CC-9060 / CC-9068 is behaving strangely or you have purchased a new phone and now certain features do not work you may need to update the software of the kit. This has to be done via a bluetooth enabled laptop, the first step is to download and install the Bury Update Manager. Once installed you will see a ‘Download’ button, select this and then the model of kit and the program will download the latest available version of software for you. (Please note if you wish to store the software for future ‘off line’ use you will need to manually download the file from Bury.com)

Then put the car kit into Update Mode (Settings – Device – System – Software Update – Yes) The kit will only stay in update mode for around 5 minutes if no bluetooth connection is made.

Then you will need to do a bluetooth search with your laptop and you should find the CC-9060 either as a ‘Modem’ or as a ‘Serial Port’ service running. Once found connect up and enter 1234 as the passcode at this point you need to find out what ‘Outgoing Com Port’ the bluetooth software has connected to the car kit on, this varies depending on the software some makes it easy others like keeping it a secret but you NEED to know!

Once you know the com port, go to the Bury Update Manager and choose the correct com port and press Next (the program is now unzipping the repository) the Next button will need pressing again in a few seconds. The software will then send across and once completed you will get a Green Bar that will go from the left to right of the screen this does take around 8 minutes the kit will reboot when finished and you are ready to go.

Every call i get with problems is either the kit is not in update mode before the search is done or the incorrect com port has been selected!!

Please note that for CC-9060 Units do not update current units that have lower than V174 software straight to the latest version as this may cause problems. Please update them to V174 first and then to the latest version.(This note is not relevant to the CC-9068).

I did not get to this E Mail before I started an update. I have downloaded the latest software version in error and now the unit is totally dead, no display at all. Sometimes a voice comes on and say’s “UK English” but nothing on the display.
Does this mean my CC9060 is now dead and never to live again?

    • Hi Karl, i have never come across a Bury kit that has completely died after an update because even if the update fails for some reason (poor BT connection, flat laptop battery etc) it isn’t processed until it’s completely downloaded to the kit via bluetooth. After the update did you get a ‘Green’ bar start creeping from the left of the screen to the right? After an update of the kit it then updates the screen to make the software match but at a glance the screen is 99% blank to start with and it’s quite easy to miss the Green bar thats started. If the screen has started the update and is then removed from it’s cradle it could cause a problem as the screen will be mid update. If you start your vehicle can you still connect your phone to the bluetooth and make a call using the phone? The kit should work even with a screen disconnected. If it does work i strongly suspect you have a faulty screen. If it doesn’t work with your phone it is probably more terminal. If you’re in the UK and need a screen let me know i have a few 2nd hand ones we could probably do a deal on 🙂

  2. Are all the contacts on the phone memory and not the sim card? Also how many contacts do you think you have?

    Hello. I have a Bury CC-9060 Smart.
The software version 222 was installed on the device. The list of available languages was Dutch, French and one more. There was no English or Russian.
I installed the version 271 software. The list of available languages has not changed.
How do I add English and Russian to the list of available languages?

    • I’m afraid the languages depend on what market the kit was destined for when it was made. There was a big problem with ‘Grey Importing’ the kits to different countries so Bury locked down the languages of the kit so if the kit was destined for Germany only the German language would work etc. If English isn’t showing i’m afraid there isn’t anything that can be done to enable it sorry!

I’ll drop Bury’s support people a line, but wondered if you might have any advice… I’ve got a Bury CC9068 installed with an iPhone 7 running iOS 11. Until the iOS update, it was working fine – now, the phone book doesn’t seem to sync properly and contacts on the favourites list are not on the Bury.

Updated the Bury from 0111 to 0134. Tried re-pairing a number of times, and all contact groups are enabled for syncing on the iPhone. Nothing seems to get these contacts back on the Bury.

I’m guessing this might be an iOS 11 / CC9068 compatibility issue… have you see anything like this before, or have any advice?

    • Hi Adam,
I haven’t come across anything like this before, is this the latest iOS update that came out last week? (V11.0.1 i think it was?)

      • Adam says:

Yes. No better with iOS 11.0.2 either. Just noticed that the latest version of the Bury firmware for the CC 9068 is v.129 but I’ve load v.134, which I’m sure came up last time I searched. Hopefully I can downgrade – any knowledge?

Bury say it’s an Apple fault… I agree, to an extent, but I’m not having any issues on my other car using built-in kit. Seems contacts with a photo aren’t syncing.

        • The latest firmware for the 9068 is V134 🙂
It does seem like an Apple issue, car kits are individual in how they operate. This wouldn’t be the first time that a phone manufacturer has made a problem during an update but the fault doesn’t always show on every type of kit.

I’ve had the same problem as you Adam. I’ve just deleted the contact photos and my Bury is working properly again. You’ve really helped me, thanks

hi. my bury has no sound at all. no voice commands are spoken or media. The phone connects ok but when it phones out or connects to a in coming call ,there is nothing. to hear a call i hae to actiate speaker on my phone. the music will come on but no sound.

    • Need to work out if it’s a CC-9060 or CC-9068 kit. Can you go to Settings – Device – System – Vers Info and let me know what the 2nd line says please. Also do you use Android? If so just go to bluetooth menu, find the Car kit and then touch the ‘Cog’ and make sure ‘Call Audio’ (or similar) is ticked as it’s possible you are only ticked for Media Audio at the moment.

  6. Danny says:

Hi Does the Bury CC9060 play music, or do I have to purchase the CC9060Music version?

    • The CC9060 did offer Bluetooth Streaming for Music however it didnt have any form of Amplifier built in so it just gave a low level output from a 3.5mm socket on the junction box. This had to get into some form of Auxiliary Input on the car (if available) so that the vehicle stereo could amplify the sound up to an audible level. It was tricky on some cars and not possible on others. Generally people didn’t bother!

  7. Danny says:

Also sorry, I seen in the message above from Karl, were you discussed the screen going blank, Mine has done this too and there is a small green bar at the left hand side. Unfortunately the update got interrupted and I think this is what caused this, does this mean the screen is broken?

    Thanks in Advance

    • If you power on the kit now do you get the Green Bar come onto the screen again? If so it should carry on going across but i would estimate it takes 8-10 minutes to complete. If your screen is now doing nothing then the Screen is probably faulty now. If it is just a faulty screen you should be able to still connect your phone to the kit and use the kit but you will have to use your Mobile to start / stop calls but it’s a good way to check the rest of the kit is still ok before finding a new screen. Let me know on here if you need another screen i have a few kicking about we may be able to do a deal on 🙂
